El Reducto beach, with a Blue Flag, has launched a new free locker service. The Arrecife City Council, as part of the improvements it is implementing on this large urban beach in the capital of Lanzarote, has installed this locker service next to the bathroom area so that users can deposit their belongings.
The lockers are monitored by the video camera system that the Department of Beaches has assigned in this area of El Reducto.
More improvements and services in El Reducto
These new improvements implemented by the Department of Beaches, led by councilor Davinia Déniz, are in addition to the recent opening of bathrooms for ostomy patients. Arrecife has become the first municipality on the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote to offer accessible facilities within public bathrooms for ostomy patients.
The Arrecife City Council has, since the end of November, enabled an area in the bathrooms of El Reducto beach so that ostomy patients can better enjoy their beach time knowing that El Reducto offers these accessible facilities.
The mayor, Yonathan de León, who, together with the councilor for Beaches, Davinia Déniz, presented this public locker system, have announced that during this 2025 the city will launch more services and better facilities on several beaches in Arrecife, including La Arena, where the City Council is carrying out works with an investment of close to 500,000 euros, and in La Concha, whose interventions have been sent to Costas for its mandatory authorization.
