The Local Police of Arrecife continues to reinforce preventive controls to combat drug use and sale in parks and other public spaces in the city.
The mayor, Yonathan de León, in his capacity as direct head of the Local Police, has instructed the agents to maintain deployments in the areas identified by the residents themselves as possible points of drug dealing and drug use.
The operations include monitoring in camouflaged vehicles and special outings both day and night, with special attention to sensitive areas. Among them is Parque de Los Pinos, in the Titerroy neighborhood, near an educational center, where preventive controls have been carried out in the last days of September.
The Local Police of Arrecife has new technological resources, vehicles and vans to reinforce citizen security in a municipality that already exceeds 72,000 inhabitants. In addition, it has a Canine Unit specialized in interventions related to the possession, consumption and sale of drugs.
