The Department of Public Works of the Arrecife City Council continues to carry out new resurfacing works, in these weeks of August, on several streets in different neighborhoods of the city. The mayor Yonathan de León announces the renovation of the pavement on La Destila street, Titerroy and several adjacent to Fajardo street.
This Municipal Resurfacing Plan, which has recently carried out improvements in the streets of the Altavista and Argana Baja neighborhoods, and in the La Concha urbanization, continues these days with new works in the streets around the La Destila school, inside the Titerroy neighborhood, and in the surroundings of Fajardo street, in the center of the capital of Lanzarote.
The mayor has been present, on the street, on the days that the awarded companies have carried out the work on the pavement of several roads.
In Titerroy, action has been taken on the streets surrounding the Blas Cabrera Felipe Institute and those existing in the vicinity of the Youth Center and the Health Center of this populous neighborhood.
In the La Destilla neighborhood, the works, in this phase, have seen improvements to the Cabo Juby, El Pedro, El Rubicón and a section of La Inés streets. Soon, the mayor points out, the entire resurfacing of La Inés street, between the La Destilla school and Fajardo street, will be carried out. In this street of La Inés, in addition, parallel works have been carried out to improve accessibility and eliminate barriers next to the existing pedestrian crossings, and those of upcoming execution at the end of the road, in its connection with Fajardo street.
In the surroundings of La Calle Fajardo, the Ramón Franco, Río de Oro, Figueroa, La Gaviota and Alegranza roads have been resurfaced, among others.
The first mayor has remarked that during this new term a powerful Municipal Resurfacing Plan will continue, the largest – due to its economic amount - of those that have been executed in the capital of Lanzarote throughout its history.
