The Arrecife City Council has asked the Management of the Lanzarote Health Services to vacate the autocovid installed in the Fairground of the capital on February 1, to have the facility available for the celebration of the next carnival.
This has been confirmed by the director of the Area, Noelia Umpiérrez, on Radio Lanzarote – Onda Cero, and she has stressed that from the Arrecife City Council “they do not offer alternatives”, so they will be forced to leave the place. “We are here for carnivals”, she criticized.
“I sometimes think we live in a parallel world, there are decisions that I don't understand”, Umpiérrez questioned, who also pointed out that from the City Council they will have to be “consistent” with the decisions they propose.
The Health Area is working to find an alternative and move the autocovid to another location. “We spoke the other day with Councilor Marcos Bergaz, to assess the possibility of the Puerto del Carmen Interchange”, she pointed out, although she points out that the location of the Fairground was “ideal” both for being in the capital and for the ease of locating vehicles.
The autocovid has been installed in the Fairground since October 15, 2020, after it took almost three months to complete the assembly.
