The candidate of Nueva Canarias - Frente Canarista Amplio (NC-FCA) to the Arrecife City Council, Armando Santana, has been left out of the island's capital. Santana has spoken on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero to announce that he is leaving politics. "I have made a personal decision, I am leaving politics, we must give way to people with other projects and we must value personal life," he said.

"Above all because we must also value personal life. I have dedicated these last years intensely in body and soul to an illusion that not only I had but a large group of people who accompanied me," revealed the candidate. Some did not even have the right to vote.

"This will always be the same, going to the elections with what you have and fighting with giants. It's impossible," said a defeated Armando Santana about the three major parties of the Archipelago. "I am not going to go to any other party ever. In 2027 practically the same thing will happen, new formations will arrive with effervescence, with illusion, as was the case with Ciudadanos or Podemos, but you cannot stay in time with other political forces, by history, militancy or financing, it must be said," confessed the candidate of Nueva Canarias.

"The elections are like that, in the end the people have decided with their vote and I have nothing to say. This is democracy, the capacity that each individual has when giving their will and they have considered it appropriate that the Socialist Party be the most voted force," Santana added.

Despite the bad result in Arrecife, Nueva Canarias has obtained representation in several points of the island. The candidate of the nationalist formation to the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Yoné Caraballo, has obtained the first Canarian parliamentarian for the constituency of Lanzarote. In addition, the candidate for the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Óscar Noda, has also reached the two councilors.
