The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Hunting Area, has opened the registration period for the aptitude tests 2025 required to obtain a hunting license on the island for the first time, as stated in the resolution published this Monday in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC).
The Councilor responsible for the Area, Samuel Martín, highlighted that this call "manages to guarantee a regulated hunting practice that respects the natural environment, as well as promoting adequate training for those who start in this traditional activity of the Lanzarote countryside."
There are two dates available for taking the exam. Interested persons may choose between May 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., and June 12, 2025, also at 5:00 p.m. Both tests will be held at the Cabildo of Lanzarote headquarters.
Requirements and applications
All those over 14 years of age interested in hunting on the island may apply for these tests. Minors must have the express authorization of their mother, father or legal representative, accompanied by the corresponding ID.
The registration process can be done either electronically, through the Electronic Registry of the Cabildo, or in person at the General Registry of the Corporation, located at the island headquarters. In both cases, it will be necessary to complete the standard form and provide the required documentation.
In the electronic way it will be essential to have a recognized or qualified digital certificate of electronic signature. For those who opt for the face-to-face mode, the forms are available in the offices of the Hunting Area, where assistance can also be obtained for the correct presentation of the application.
The registration period will remain open from the publication of the call in the BOC (April 21, 2025) until the day before the date of the chosen exam.
