The spokesperson for the PP in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ángel Vázquez, was on the Buenos días, Lanzarote program of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero this Tuesday to answer some questions related to the dismissal of Jacobo Medina as vice president of the Island Council.

"This is something that happens normally in political parties and what the PP has done is some adjustments in the middle of the legislature, nothing more. It must be remembered that a vice presidency does not have executive or economic powers, only protocol ones, and perhaps the vice presidency has been overvalued," he said. In this sense, the spokesperson has confirmed that Jacobo Medina will not be on the Governing Council.

On the other hand, Vázquez stressed that "in political parties there is a hierarchy, not everyone decides everything." Regarding the rumors of the bad relationship of Medina with the rest of the party colleagues, the spokesperson has pointed out that "it is not true, we meet every week."

"People have to know where they are located at each moment and they have to know who we are who have to make decisions, you don't have to give powers to those who don't have them," he stated.

In addition, with regard to the decision to dismiss Jacobo Medina as vice president of the Cabildo, the spokesperson has clarified that "these things are discussed and come from a cascading pact where they communicate to me the areas that were negotiated."

Vázquez continued saying that "here the one who commands is the party and if tomorrow they make a decision that I don't like, I'm going home, it's absurd to fight against colleagues and stir up trouble because this is not ours, the party puts us in for a job."
