The crisis of the Popular Party has erupted this Monday. The formation led by Ástrid Pérez has submitted a letter asking the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, for a modification in the areas of the current vice president Jacobo Medina.

As a result, Jacobo Medina is no longer vice president and this position passes to María Jesús Tovar, who will retain Economy and Finance.

In addition, in this restructuring, the areas of Planning and Coordination of projects are also taken away from the current vice president. Therefore, Medina will remain with the Ministry of Public Works, Technical Office and Mobile Park.

As you may recall, the bad relationship of Jacobo Medina with some of his party colleagues, and even with Ástrid Pérez, president of the PP of Lanzarote, has been known for some time. This bad relationship even jumped to some regional media that echoed it. Now, it remains to be seen what the response of Medina and the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, who maintain a magnificent relationship, will be.
