Jacobo Medina, vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Minister of Public Works, was this Wednesday on the program Buenos Días, Lanzarote of Radio Lanzaorte-Onda Cero to answer some questions, one of them about the rumors about his "bad relationship" with Astrid Pérez, president of the Popular Party of Lanzarote.
"I only think about working and it is true that when one is in politics and in positions of high responsibility, the shots are directed a lot, especially to wear down and this is what the rest of the political parties are doing, in subtracting and dividing the Popular Party because at this moment it has a lot of strength in Lanzarote because we are doing a great job," Medina said.
"We find ourselves with other people's battles because in the PP there is no division regarding what has been said in recent days and the relationship with the president of the Popular Party of Lanzarote, Astrid Pérez, is the same as we had days, weeks, months and years ago," he said. "My relationship with my president of the Popular Party of Lanzarote is excellent since she appointed me her general secretary and, in addition, in this sense there is no division," he continued.
The vice president of the Cabildo concluded by saying that "I don't think this is something that comes from the party itself, this is due to parties that want to divide the Popular Party, but today the party has enough strength to continue working intensely."
