Contigo Teguise denounces that the abandonment of the municipality of Teguise has stemmed from the "miserable and irresponsible" policy of Oswaldo Betancort and Olivia Duque, which has cost the residents of the municipality "more than half a million euros" for a decade. Coalición Canaria has closely followed a policy of abandonment, letting the vegetation die to then uproot the landscaping.
"Especially serious has been the attack that Betancort and Duque perpetrated over these last years on the palm trees of the municipality", he argues. "In these years, entire palm groves have been destroyed by two politicians who are the shame of Teguise", he clarifies.
And, for example, in Costa Teguise, each palm tree had "a cost that the residents of the town have had to pay through the UCCT", he recalls. "These palm trees were planted, fertilized, watered, and pampered until Oswaldo and Olivia crossed their path", he makes clear.
"It's better not to talk about the councilor for Costa Teguise because he didn't see anything", he adds. To give us an idea, in the market "a three-meter palm tree sells for 1800 euros without even planting and watering it, with the risk that it always has of not taking root in the ground". "Adding hedges, palm trees, and vegetation in general and checking with hotels that have gardens, we have estimated that recovering the damage will cost around half a million euros from the residents of Teguise", he states.
"They have destroyed everything, dedicating themselves to living off the story and plugging in friends"
Laureano Álvarez, candidate for mayor of Teguise, explains that "the only thing they had to do was take care of the inheritance they had, and instead, they have destroyed everything, dedicating themselves to living off the story and plugging in friends". "The green areas destroyed by Oswaldo and Olivia are not only an environmental attack, but also a regrettable economic waste", he concludes.
