The Local Security Committee has decided this Friday to give a restricted access card to the airport to León Fajardo, who was on hunger strike for 17 days. Thus, Aena offers a solution that will allow Fajardo to return to his job, but have limited the areas through which he can move within the airport grounds.
The committee that has now adopted this decision is made up of the Civil Guard, the National Police and Spanish Airports and Air Navigation.
According to Aena, Fajardo's card was withdrawn for repeatedly breaching "serious faults in the National Security Plan." They point out that he has three faults of this type that entail the definitive withdrawal of the access card. From Aena they assure that he was the only worker in these conditions, since other colleagues only have two serious faults and therefore their card was not permanently withdrawn. Even Fajardo has a judicial conviction for having invaded the airport runway during a strike.
For his part, León Fajardo considered that the withdrawal of his card is "null" because there is no article in Law 21/2003, on Air Security, that allows the card to be withdrawn for more than three years. He points out that no file was opened for the withdrawal of the card, which would be irregular because it does not allow him to defend himself.
