AENA confirms that the draft of the Airport Master Plan will be ready in early summer

The Master Plan of the Lanzarote Airport may be defined between the months of June or July and "will include all the demands that have been raised before Aena from the Cabildo". This was announced by the Minister of Public Works and First Vice President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Fabián Martín, after holding a meeting in Madrid with the Head of Infrastructure Planning of Aena, Amparo Brea.

The draft of the Airport Master Plan will include the extension of the runway towards the sea, the reorganization of the current terminals and a significant growth of the platform. Once the draft is ready, it will be processed "for approximately one year in the Ministry of Environment so that it is subsequently adjusted to the investments of the Canary Islands Plan developed by Spanish Airports and Air Navigation", according to reports from the Cabildo.

The meeting held this Monday in Madrid was intended to "know and accelerate the final drafting of the draft of this Master Plan, given the need for Lanzarote to have an airport that responds to the demands of this island", explains Fabián Martín. In addition, the Cabildo highlights its "satisfaction because, in the end, Aena is going to take up the ideas or suggestions of this Cabildo".
