The Assembly Hall of the Cabildo of Lanzarote hosted this Friday morning the closing ceremony of the program New Employment Opportunities (NOE) Lanzarote 2023/2024, a key initiative to improve employability on the island. This project involved 39 people, who received their diplomas after months of practical training and work experience in different areas of the island's Cabildo.

The NOE Project has been launched by the Cabildo, and financed by the Canarian Employment Service and the European Social Fund, through a grant of 1,226,925 euros, and by the Employment Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, which has allocated 404,175.49 euros of its own funds to this program whose purpose is to promote labor insertion, providing specific skills in areas such as project planning, legal advice, education, transportation, and social inclusion.

During the event, the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, thanked and congratulated the participants for the work done in this last year in the Cabildo. "This program is much more than an employment initiative; it is an open door to the future, a space where professional growth, constant learning, and collaboration between the various areas of the Cabildo have been fostered," Betancort stressed.

The president valued "the effort, dedication, and commitment of these young people who have made this project a true success." "Thanks to this initiative," added Betancort, "39 professionals, recently completed their studies, have had the opportunity to acquire new skills, practical work experience, and, above all, the confidence to face the challenges of the labor market."

For her part, the Minister of Employment, Ascensión Toledo, highlighted the transformative impact of this program. "The NOE Project has not only allowed participants to gain experience in different areas, but has also strengthened their confidence and skills. From the Cabildo, we will continue to support initiatives that offer real employment and training opportunities for all Lanzarote residents."

After the diploma ceremony, the participants in this employment program had the opportunity to share their experiences and lessons learned during their time working in the Cabildo of Lanzarote. In addition, they highlighted the importance of this initiative for their professional and personal development, emphasizing how it has allowed them to improve their skills, establish new working relationships, and actively contribute to the well-being of the island community.
