It happened on Saturday around 9:30 p.m. and a person passing through the Plaza de San Roque, in Tinajo, witnessed the events and was able to notify the Local Police. A young man of about 30 years allegedly attacked another 64-year-old neighbor, who had to be hospitalized due to the severe injuries he suffered.
The Local Police arrived at the scene about 9:32 p.m., two minutes after the fight began. A witness heard "shouts and saw how one person was beating another", for reasons that are currently unknown, according to Local Police sources.
Given the seriousness of the injuries, the agents quickly called 112, who contacted the NGO Emerlan. The Emerlan ambulance was in La Santa, so it could arrive before the Canary Emergency Service (SUC).
Thus, it was Emerlan who transferred the injured man to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, where he remains hospitalized. According to La Voz, the victim was admitted with serious injuries, as he suffered blows to the head. The possibility of transferring him by helicopter to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was even considered but was ruled out, precisely because of the severity of the injuries presented by this man, according to Emerlan sources.
Both the victim and the alleged aggressor live in Tinajo, where this fight took place. According to Local Police sources, the alleged aggressor was arrested on Sunday morning and was brought to justice, accused of a crime of injury.
