17 immigrants detained from a new boat in Costa Teguise

According to the Civil Guard, a new boat arrived in Costa Teguise, near the Meliá Salinas Hotel, at one o'clock on Wednesday morning, where 17 immigrants were arrested as they walked around the area, disoriented, showing symptoms of exhaustion and with their clothes wet. Apparently, there were 20 people traveling in the boat, so the security forces are looking for three of the occupants.

Among the detainees were identified seven adult Maghrebi men, one adult Maghrebi woman, along with six underage males (five Maghrebi and one Mauritanian), one of them being 10 years old, one of 13 years old, two of 14 years old and two of 15 years old.

The boat, six meters long and equipped with two engines, was found in the sea near the shore and in a rocky place with difficult access. It is the sixth to reach the coasts of Conejera in less than 24 hours. The Government Delegate has confirmed that there are already 91 detainees, although the security forces are still looking for about thirty people who are in an irregular situation.

Five boats in 10 hours

Around five o'clock on Tuesday morning, a boat arrived at Los Ancones beach with irregular immigrants, of whom five were arrested, including one minor. To this boat are added two that arrived throughout Tuesday morning, one to San Juan beach, in Famara, with three minors arrested and another to Caleta de Mero.

Another boat arrived in the Las Caletas area at about one o'clock in the afternoon with 21 immigrants on board, including a woman and three minors, one of them a girl. All of them were arrested by the Security forces. In addition, another boat was towed to Puerto Naos in the afternoon, which was intercepted 30 miles out at sea by the Civil Guard, in which there were 29 immigrants, of whom, according to their own testimony, 13 were minors.

In addition, the security forces have also intercepted part of the immigrants from the boat that had been captured empty 500 meters from Caleta de Mero.

To these arrests of the immigrants who were traveling by boat, we must add one more, since the Police have captured a man who was waiting on the coast for the immigrants, for favoring illegal immigration, since, according to sources of the investigation, he acted as a contact with the people who arrived from Africa.
