Yellow warning for coastal phenomena during the weekend in Lanzarote

Lanzarote will be on yellow alert for coastal phenomena during the weekend, according to the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands. A pre-alert that comes due to the bad sea state caused by a storm north of the Canary Islands, which during Sunday, will reach a wave height of between 4 and 5 meters on the island.

In addition, with the drop in temperatures expected for Lanzarote during the weekend, the heat that the Canary Islands has suffered during the month of October is being left behind. In addition, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency, there could be light rains during Saturday and Sunday.

For Saturday, 27 degrees Celsius will be reached in Arrecife and the rest of the island in areas such as Teguise, Tinajo or Yaiza, in which they will be around 24 degrees, the Aemet has predicted. In addition, there will be cloudy intervals with a low probability of some light rain, mainly in the last hours of the day. The minimum temperatures will be slightly decreasing and the maximum temperatures will have few changes. The wind will be light from the north, with breezes in the central hours, which will turn to moderate west component during the afternoon of Saturday.

On Sunday, October 22, Arrecife will reach 28 degrees Celsius and in Teguise, Haría, Tías and Yaiza 20 degrees Celsius will be reached. During most of the day until the beginning of the afternoon, cloudy intervals with little rain will predominate throughout the island. In addition, the wind will be present during the morning of Sunday throughout the island, in which it will reach 50 kilometers per hour in Haría.
