The director of the HL Río Playa Blanca hotel, Miguel Ángel Sordo, was one of the first people to arrive at the scene of the multiple hit-and-run that shocked the tourist town of Yaiza last Monday and ended the life of a five-month-old baby.
The HL Río Playa Blanca hotel was the place where two of the victims were staying, a mother and a daughter, both of Swedish nationality. The two had arrived that same day in Lanzarote, three hours before the accident took place.
On the other hand, the rest of the people are of British nationality and are the parents and grandparents of the deceased baby.
According to Sordo told La Provincia, a hotel client alerted "screaming" that an accident had occurred with a child. The director initially thought it had been inside the hotel, but then the client indicated that it had been outside.
Upon arriving at the scene of the accident, the director saw "a rather bleak panorama. I offered to help them and some paramedics asked me to keep the victims awake." Then the rest of the professionals arrived.
On the other hand, sources from the Molina Orosa hospital have informed La Voz that the three people who remained under observation have been admitted to different floors of the hospital and are progressing favorably. While the two people who are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) are stable within the severity.
