Maritime Rescue has rescued two boats with a total of 85 immigrants of sub-Saharan origin on board during the night of this Saturday in waters near Lanzarote.
In the first boat traveled 50 people -34 men, 14 women and two children-; while in the second there were another 35, all sub-Saharan men.
The immigrants have been rescued by the Guardamar Calíope, which has transferred them to the Commercial dock of Arrecife, where they arrived at 7:30 am this Sunday. They have been attended by the Red Cross on land and all were in good health.
Since December 31, about ten boats with a total of 395 people on board have been rescued off the coast of Lanzarote.
