Two boats have been intercepted in waters near Lanzarote this Saturday afternoon. According to EFE, Maritime Rescue has rescued 139 migrants, including several minors, aboard the two inflatable boats. In addition, according to the Red Cross, 5 transfers have been made to health centers for different pathologies.

In the first one, which has been rescued by Maritime Rescue, between 50 and 60 people were traveling, who reported having to throw two corpses overboard during the journey, and also went to assist a second one.

The notice was received this morning, reporting that two boats had departed from the Moroccan town of Tan Tan, later locating them the Sasemar 103 plane in different positions, so Salvamento mobilized the guardamar Talía and the salvamar Al Nair to go in search of them, as detailed by sources from the state company to EFE.

The first vessel is initially located by the ship Adnan N, which is diverted by maritime controllers to the position where the inflatable boat was seen and remained escorting it until the guardamar arrived.

At around 6:00 p.m. (Canarian time), the rescue of its occupants is completed: 69 people, of whom ten are women and three are minors. During the rescue, Salvamento specified, "several people had to be recovered from the water, with all those rescued initially in apparent good health," although they told the state company team that they threw two corpses into the sea during the trip.

The guardamar Talía itself, after collecting the migrants from this boat, has mobilized towards the second one in case it is necessary to assist the salvamar Al Nair, although until 6:40 p.m. (Canarian time), it had not yet been found by the state company's ship.

Maritime controllers have also moved the ship Sarika Naree towards this second boat, although upon arrival of both this and Salvamento at the last given position, its sighting has not occurred. In this second boat, according to sources from the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, another 70 people were traveling, without specifying whether there are any women or minors among them, and all seem to be in good health.

Once the occupants of this second boat are located and rescued, the two Salvamento boats will head towards the Puerto Naos dock, in Arrecife.

The guardamar Talía is estimated to arrive at Puerto Naos at 10:35 p.m., while the salvamar Al Nair is estimated to have arrived in the early morning, around 4:45 a.m.
