The bodies of two of the migrants who drowned on the coasts of Lanzarote in early November can be repatriated to their country of origin and returned to their families. This was reported by the Court's Communication Office to La Voz.

Last Sunday, November 3, the easternmost face of the migratory route to the Canary Islands was stained with mourning. The body of a young Moroccan woman, 25 years old, was rescued by a commercial ship along with the survivors of the shipwreck of the inflatable boat in which they were traveling. The ship took the survivors to the coasts of Morocco, the number of which is unknown, but the Guardamar Concepción Arenal transferred the body of the young woman to Lanzarote and two of her friends.

That same afternoon, a flight made by the Sasemar 103 plane of Maritime Rescue detected a second shipwreck and, at least, five bodies floating in the water, which it did not rescue then because it was attending to an alert from another precarious vessel. That first weekend of November, after the plummeting of inflatable boats in October, 920 migrants were rescued.

Two days later, on Tuesday, November 5, a fishing boat from Lanzarote rescued the bodies of two young Moroccans, whose bodies were floating adrift. One of them had a life jacket and the other had a tire tube tied to his chest. According to the Court, only one of these bodies has been identified.

Thus, sources from Caminando Fronteras and Cruz Roja have indicated to this editorial staff that the brother of one of the deceased young men traveled to Lanzarote to identify the remains of his brother. The process, accompanied by the Guardia Civil, the Forensic Anatomical Institute and the Court
