IN VIEW OF THE CHAMBER'S NOTE ANNOUNCING A MASTER'S DEGREE AND THIS DEGREE

The UNED denies the Chamber of Commerce and assures that it already offers the Degree in Law and 64 master's degrees on the island

It questions the Chamber's statement and that it said that 95 percent of the students would successfully complete the studies it is going to offer. "That will depend on their abilities, performance and effort," he says?

The National University of Distance Education (UNED) has sent a statement to deny the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce and to highlight that the Degree in Law studies have already been taught on the island since the 2010-2011 academic year, in addition to another 25 degrees from different branches of knowledge, as well as 64 official distance master's degrees.

This clarification has been made "in view of the informative note released on Monday by the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce", which signed an agreement with the Cela Open Institute (COI) and assured that this will facilitate access to university studies "until now not accessible on the island". In addition, it announced that it will offer a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and the Degree in Law.

From the UNED they wanted to point out that this center also taught the degree in Law, which was replaced by the Degree in Law, in which 76 people have graduated until last year. The center, created in Lanzarote in 1973, has also insisted that its teaching is "semi-presential" and welcomes "all those students who for various circumstances cannot access face-to-face universities".

The UNED also offers the possibility of studying 64 official distance master's degrees, as explained in this press release, in which it also emphasizes that the official postgraduate studies are aimed at "the specialization of the student in their academic, professional or research training". "The Official Postgraduate Programs lead to obtaining the titles of Master and Doctor, adjusted to the criteria of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA)", he explained.

"It will depend on their abilities and performance"

The UNED also recalls another phrase from the Chamber of Commerce, which assured that the semi-presential courses it was going to offer had personalized support tutorials, which guarantee that "95 percent" of its students successfully complete their studies compared to other exclusively virtual offers. "The UNED cannot guarantee its students that 95 percent of them will graduate. That will depend on their abilities, performance, effort and personal sacrifice necessary for the training leading to the titles of degrees and official postgraduate degrees", the UNED has pointed out, thus criticizing this statement from the Chamber of Commerce.
