The Tías City Council wishes to express its deepest condolences to family and friends of Andrés Acosta, who passed away at the age of 79. Andrés Acosta, born in Haría and resident in Tías, was a teacher for more than three decades in the municipality, where he left good memories among his students.
According to the publication Reviews on education in the municipality of Tías, by Juan Cruz and JJ Romero, "his connection to the life of the town of Tías, his friendly character and his passion for mathematics, as well as countless unforgettable anecdotes for many schoolchildren" always distinguished Acosta.
Andrés Acosta began his educational work in Tías in 1969, in the schools of La Orilla. Later he moved to the Alcalde Rafael Cedrés school, where he was assigned until 1998, and later to the Tías Secondary Education Institute.
