The business Group “Cabreara Medina” (CICAR) and the Mercedes Medina Díaz Association announce the XI Edition of the Children's and Primary Drawing Contest Paint and Care for your island of autonomous scope on the occasion of the celebration of Canary Islands Day. This edition carries the motto The Canarian countryside: sow and harvest.
The General Assembly of the United Nations has declared the year 2026 as the International Year of Agriculture. Each year UNESCO proposes an international theme to highlight global problems, to mobilize, raise awareness through education and strengthen international cooperation.
Agriculture has historically played a fundamental role in the economic and social. Currently it contributes to the food sovereignty of canarias and a good reflection in the PIB. In Lanzarote in particular, the farmer has carved an original agrarian landscape that has generated a “unique landscaped landscape” and that has placed us in the world as a tourist destination among other singularities of this island.
The Concurso Pinta y Cuida tu isla is an invitation to all Early Childhood and Primary students from all centers in Canarias to capture the Canarian countryside. It is intended that all students value the effort of farmers, respect for nature, responsible consumption of local products as part of the Canarian Cultural heritage.
Four categories will be established:
A. -Early Childhood Education Students (3, 4 and 5 years old)
B. -Primary Education Students (1st and 2nd grade)
C. -Primary Education Students (3rd and 4th grade)
D. -Primary Education Students (5th and 6th grade)
Each student will present a drawing that adheres to the theme of this XI Edición The Canarian countryside: sowing and harvesting and must be fully identified and with the family's authorization (staple Anexo I to the drawing).
The submission period begins on February 23 and ends on April 10, 2026.
The drawings will be delivered to any Autos Cabrera Medina-ORVECAME-CICAR Office from its entire network in Canarias. Two prizes will be established for each category and island consisting of:
First Prize: A Tablet for each winning female/male student of each modality. Three days of car rental for the tutor, teacher responsible for the activity.
Second Prize: A Tablet for the winning male/female student. The awarded centers will receive an accrediting diploma.
The jury of the present competition will be formed by staff of the Business Group, Education professionals, and by members of the Mercedes Medina Díaz Association. The jury's decision will be communicated to the educational centers, information website, and media.
A single public event will be held at CICAR Lanzarote for delivery, and the rest of the Centros de Canarias will receive it by parcel service.
