The Los Tabletúos 'murga afilarmónica' has announced that it will not participate in the 2022 Carnivals either. They join other 'murgas' who have also made the same decision, such as Las Faltonas, Inadaptadas or Desahuciados.
"Sometimes it's important to take a step back to gain momentum", they point out in the statement published on their social networks. "The few pieces of song written, a couple of costume ideas, chats between friends and meetings held with the rest of the groups throughout this year made us believe that it would be possible to reach March with possibilities of living, even if in a different way, what is our party", Los Tabletúos point out.
They assure that it has been a "difficult decision", and that it has been caused by "uncertainty, doubts and fear of working in vain." "We would be fooling ourselves if we denied that not being able to fully enjoy this hobby that gives us life has influenced, and a lot, this decision," they add.
However, the group thanks the groups that will be part of the 2022 Carnival, for "keeping the flame alive". They also have words of gratitude to the institutions "for counting on them", and for trying not to leave a new year "orphaned of masquerades".
"In 2023, the year in which we will celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we will pick up the gauntlet and the illusion of dressing up again, baring our hearts," Los Tabletúos conclude.
