The murga Las Faltonas has also announced, through an official statement, the "unanimous" decision of the members not to participate in the next murga contest of the 2022 Carnival. Therefore, there are already four murgas that have decided not to compete next year, after the decision of Los Desahuciados, of Las Inadaptadas and Las Enraladas.
From the carnival group they affirm that the main thing is "the lack of time to carry out the rehearsals that the contest requires."
The murga was formed at the beginning of the summer of last year 2020, so it has not yet been able to debut in the Murga Contest of the Arrecife Carnival. "Since we are a new group, we have a lot to create", they clarify from the group.
However, Las Faltonas assure that they will participate "in everything that concerns the carnival", despite not competing in the Murga contest, and that they will try to "create events" in which they can partially enjoy this holiday.
Finally, they send "a message of hope to be able to participate in future contests: If everything goes well, we will see you in the 2023 contest.”
Currently there are seven murgas that still maintain the hope of participating in the 2022 Murga Contest, which are Los Simplones, Los Intoxicados, Los Titi Roys, Las Pijoletas, the Afilarmónica Los Tabletúos, Las Vacilonas and Las Infiltradas. The latter has the same condition as Las Faltonas, since they are a recently created group that has not yet participated in the contest.
