Beating Covid can be a long battle for many infected people and proof of this are the people who remain hospitalized in Lanzarote. And, of the 13 patients who remained in the Molina Orosa Hospital this Thursday, most have been hospitalized for some time, some of them for more than two months.

In fact, although the hospital pressure due to Covid has been significantly reduced on the island compared to the end of January and the beginning of February, when there were more than fifty patients admitted, the truth is that now it is costing to lower that occupation.

In addition, new admissions have been added to patients who have been hospitalized for months, the last of them two days ago. Therefore, in recent days the number of hospitalized patients in Lanzarote only varies by one or two people, sometimes decreasing and other times unfortunately increasing.

Two patients in the ICU since January

Currently, the two patients who have been hospitalized the longest on the island due to the coronavirus are in the ICU. One of them was admitted on January 5 and another 12 days later. In addition, there are also several patients in intensive care who have been there for a month, while the one who has been admitted for the shortest time was admitted 12 days ago.

For its part, of the three patients remaining on the Covid ward, one of them has been there for about a month and a half, specifically since January 29. In this case, the last person who was admitted with coronavirus to the ward and who still remains there did so on Tuesday.

As for ages, those admitted to the ICU are between 48 and 70 years old, while those on the ward range from 54 to 85 years old, after a 43-year-old patient was discharged on the last day. In addition to them, there are other patients who were initially admitted for coronavirus and who have tested negative but who remain hospitalized, either on the ward or in the non-Covid ICU.
