The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared a situation of pre-alert in Lanzarote due to wind and waves. The warning will come into effect from 4:00 p.m. this Saturday afternoon.
Based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and other available sources, the island's Executive has warned that the island may suffer northeast winds between 30 and 50 kilometers per hour, with intervals of 50 and 60 kilometers per hour with probable strong and very strong gusts, with gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
Thus, as for the waves, the wind may cause waves between two and three meters high. The northeast wind will blow with force five at sea, between 29 and 49 kilometers per hour, with "wide" areas of force seven, between 50 and 61 kilometers per hour in the high seas, on the southeast and northeast coasts.
Meanwhile, the strong swell and the north or northeast groundswell will leave waves of between one and two meters and combined seas of between two and three.
