The Government of the Canary Islands announced this Tuesday the dismissal of Dr. Blanca Fraguela as manager of the General Hospital of Lanzarote, where she had been working for years, a job not without notable controversy and practically without any relationship with the media.

Precisely this issue, according to several sources close to the Ministry of Health of the Canarian Executive, could have been one of the triggers that would have led to the replacement in one of the most strategic positions in healthcare on the Island, since at this moment another professional profile is being sought to try to bring the administration a little closer to the administered. It is a similar case to the one that led to the dismissal of the previous head of the Lanzarote Health Area, Rafael Sastre Merinero, who was replaced by Dr. Juan Manuel Sosa to generate a change of image that has evidently been achieved in a very short time. The highest person in charge of health on the Island preferred to be cautious when consulted by this newsroom, assuring that officially no one had confirmed the news to him.

Other sources consulted by LA VOZ, however, stated that the decision could be agreed this Tuesday during the usual meeting of the Governing Council chaired by Adán Martín, a circumstance that finally became effective. In addition, the name of Fraguela's possible replacement is already being considered. This is Dr. Pedro Moreno Ramis, currently head of the Quality Control Unit of the General Hospital of Lanzarote, responsible, among other things, for teaching numerous courses and reviewing studies carried out by the Management itself.
