Many were those who watched with astonishment as two of the most anticipated concerts in Lanzarote coincided in date and time. La Mala Rodríguez and the Cubans Orishas will play this Thursday, August 23, separated by just a few meters. The Sevillian will do so at the Arrecife Fairgrounds, within the San Ginés festival program, while the Cuban trio will have the La Biosfera terrace as their stage.
Therefore, the Arrecife City Council, the producer of Orishas and La Biosfera have agreed to adjust the schedule of both concerts so that they do not coincide. As Miguel Ángel Ferrer, Councilor for Festivities, has explained, the performance of Mala Rodríguez will begin at about ten o'clock at night, while that of Orishas will be delayed a little, starting around twelve". In this way, after the concert, the public will be able to move to La Biosfera to continue the night to the rhythm of Cuban hip hop.
Apparently, this lack of coordination when organizing the concerts arose when Rolo Producciones, the producer of the Cuban trio, wanted to include Lanzarote in their tour of the Canary Islands. "But we already had the San Ginés program closed, and we didn't have a budget to hire another group with the cachet of Orishas", explained Miguel Ángel Ferrer. After the refusal by the Consistory, finally, the producer reached an agreement with a private company, in this case La Biosfera, establishing an entrance price (15 euros in advance and 18 euros at the box office).
