The works council of the Tourist Centers asks to dispense with ASOLAN in the Board of Directors, since "it does not contribute anything positive" and "seems to want to end the management model of the Centers". This was communicated in a letter addressed to the director of the entity in which they also request the presence of groups related to the art and culture of the island.
Guillermo Toledo, representative of the aforementioned committee, stated that the space is called "Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism", so he does not understand the absence of members related to culture in it, while "there is only one tourist", ASOLAN, which "obeys particular interests" and "torpedoes" the proper functioning of the entity.
Therefore, and taking into account that the person who represents the tourist entity, in his opinion "does not care" about the resource, Toledo proposes "that the statutes of the EPEL be changed", in order to accommodate the other groups of the Board of Directors "with voice but without vote" or that, directly, the tourism association be eliminated.
