Under this resolution, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024, the alert provided for in the PEIN is activated on the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. Also, following the recommendations of the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, recreational, sports, educational and cultural activities will be suspended outdoors during the same hours.

President Oswaldo Betancor has urged the population to take extreme precautions and follow the following prevention measures in the face of the risk of flooding, including checking roofs, preparing basic supplies and paying attention to the instructions of local authorities and emergency services.

In addition, the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, explains that specific recommendations have been established for the municipalities of the island, "with the aim of minimizing risks and ensuring the coordination of public and private organizations in the face of this alert situation."
