The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, has congratulated in her name and that of the Corporation the owners and the team of La Voz de Lanzarote for the award received at the Journalism and Communication Awards gala.

This recognition has been granted by the Open Club of Editors, the most important association in the media sector in our country, with nearly a thousand publications integrated into the association.

As the organization has pointed out, the recognition obtained by La Voz de Lanzarote is due to “its dedication and commitment" to its territory and its fellow citizens, as well as for the "ability to generate content of interest on a daily basis with honesty, transparency and independence. Also for its effort to innovate both from a technological perspective and in terms of formats and content."

“It is an honor for the island to have a media outlet like La Voz de Lanzarote, capable of standing out in a highly competitive environment and positioning itself as a local media of reference at the state level”, said the president, who especially valued that it is an award given by the media themselves.

Corujo recalled that the sister media of La Voz de Lanzarote, Radio Lanzarote, has celebrated its fiftieth anniversary this year and has been awarded the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands in its latest edition.

“My sincere congratulations to the family of La Voz de Lanzarote and my best wishes for them to continue exercising with dignity their work of public service and the rigorous and independent journalism that Lanzarote needs”, Corujo concluded.
