The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has signed this Thursday the decree for the reopening and reactivation of the activity of the Day Centers of Lanzarote with the maximum guarantees of security and hygiene for users, workers and visitors.
“We have established a security protocol that guarantees the protection and well-being of our elders and those who care for and attend to their needs daily, one of the groups at greatest risk and most vulnerable to this pandemic”, the president pointed out.
Thus, the different units of the day stay centers of Haría, Tías, San Roque, Las Cabreras and La Graciosa; of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center, of the day stay center for people with mental disabilities, of the Occupational Center, of the day stay center of the “Julio Santiago Obeso Rehabilitation Unit” and of the services for the promotion of personal autonomy and personal autonomy in early care will gradually come into service no later than July 31.
“With the reactivation of this fundamental service, we want to restore the patterns and routines of life to the dependent people who have suffered so much during confinement and, at the same time, offer support to the families who have cared for them so much and so well since last March” Corujo concluded.
For his part, the Minister of Social Welfare, Marcos Bergaz, pointed out that this reopening occurs “after incorporating the necessary measures in the application of the contingency plans for COVID-19 established in the action guides published by the Ministry of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands”.
