A total of 15 students from 3rd and 4th year of ESO from IES San Bartolomé of San Bartolomé de Lanzarote visited this Wednesday the Palace of Justice of Arrecife, led by teachers Paqui Fernández Puertas, Noemi Pérez Toledo, Jorge García-Aráez Martín-Montalvo and Eva Díaz Fernández. The group responded to the call of the Educating in Justice program, which is carried out in the Islands by the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) and the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the autonomous Government.

They were received by Magistrate Ricardo Fiestras, holder of position number 4 of the Instruction section of the Court of First Instance of Arrecife, and attended the holding of a series of trials for minor offenses.

The students had the opportunity to visit the dungeons of the judicial headquarters and the facilities of the  Institute of Legal Medicine, and filled their curiosity by posing to the forensic professionals all kinds of questions about the Administration of Justice.

Professor Eva Díaz described the experience as “wonderful”; she assured that the students had left “impacted and delighted” by the visit and highlighted her gratitude for the “kindness and dedication” with which they were welcomed  both by magistrate Fiestras and by “the rest of the professionals who welcomed us with such generosity and wisdom”
