The strong wind recorded in Lanzarote has left intense gusts along the island's orography throughout last night and during the morning of this Thursday. As you will recall, the island is on yellow alert due to this situation, which will last until 5:00 p.m. this day.

At the Lanzarote airport, gusts of up to 80 kilometers have been recorded, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), as in Tías. For its part, in Haría the wind left gusts of 72 kilometers per hour.

This meteorological situation has forced the Consortium firefighters to intervene in several incidents. On the one hand, they went to a hotel complex in Playa Blanca due to a palm tree that had fallen due to the strong wind. Upon the arrival of the troops, the Local Police had already marked the area while waiting for it to be removed.

Also, on Papagayo Avenue in Playa Blanca they went to a sign from a business that was at risk of falling, so they proceeded to fix it with flanges.

In addition, the firefighters also had to fix some methacrylate sheets from the dome of a hotel in Playa Blanca that had come loose due to the intensity of the gusts and, on the other hand, disconnected the fuses from a lamppost that was about to fall on El Calamar street in the southern town, so they disconnected the fuse and later marked the base.

Likewise, the Consortium troops also had to intervene in La Palma street in Arrecife, where a telephone cable had broken and fallen to the ground, so they attached it with flanges to the rest of the cables on the facade of a building.
