The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow alert for rainfall and storms for this Thursday in Lanzarote and La Graciosa due to Storm Francis, which will affect the Canary Islands from that day until Sunday.

Specifically, the alerts will begin at 6:00 PM this Thursday and will end at 12:00 AM on Friday. This situation will also affect the rest of the archipelago, where alerts for wind and adverse coastal phenomena have also been activated, with the exception of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

The Aemet forecasts that **up to 15 mm can accumulate in one hour** on the island. Likewise, the prediction for the weekend is that weak, scattered, and widespread rains will be the norm throughout the island's territory.

These rains arrive after the passage of storm Emilia, which left significant amounts of rain in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, such as the 91 liters recorded in Yaiza.
