Juan Francisco Rosa intends to charge for access to the pier in front of the Hotel Fariones, according to a sign that has been placed on the walkway that the businessman has built on the coast, in the coastal strip occupied in the past by the hotel. One of the sections of this walkway connects Playa Chica with the beach that had been inside the hotel facilities - which can now be freely accessed from there - and the other connects that cove and Playa Grande. That second section is the one that also leads to the pier, which Rosa now wants to give a private use.
The sign indicates that the access hours to the pier will be from 09:00 to 17:00 from November to February and from 09:00 to 19:00 from March to October, upon payment of 10 euros at the hotel reception. "I have to see the documentation," said the mayor of Tías, who, although he pointed out that "everything indicates that Costas extended the concession" on the pier, said he did not know if it allows Juan Francisco Rosa to charge for access to it.

For now, the mayor of Tías visited the area this Monday morning together with the deputy mayor, Mame Fernández. In this regard, the mayor recalled that the condition that Costas imposed on Juan Francisco Rosa when he carried out the renovation works of the hotel, which has not yet reopened its doors, is that he joined the three beaches through a public promenade, since until now it was only possible to access the beach located in front of the hotel through the establishment.
