The Tías City Council, through the Department of Sports managed by Mame Fernández, has organized the 1st Puerto del Carmen Christmas Race, which will take place on Avenida de las Playas on December 22. The festive atmosphere will prevail in this race, whose participants may wear outfits or accessories related to Christmas.

The local corporation encourages residents and visitors of the municipality and Lanzarote to participate in this fun sporting event, which is aimed at children and adults and whose registration will close on December 19 at 11:59 p.m. Registration, which costs 3 euros for children and 10 euros for adults, can be done through www.cronolinecanarias.com

The Councilor for Sports and Tourism of the Tías City Council, Mame Fernández, expresses his desire to "achieve great participation by tourists and residents, but fundamentally, by residents of all ages in the municipality, to have a good time and enjoy the avenue in a different way."

The program of the 1st Puerto del Carmen Christmas Race will begin at 11 a.m. with the participation of the pre-beginners (children from 2 to 7 years old) in a 200-meter route. Ten minutes later it will be the turn for the beginners of 8 and 9 years old with a 400-meter route, and they will be followed by the children of 10 to 13 years old, who will travel 1,000 meters. There will be a surprise for the children.

The cadets of 14 and 15 years old will start their race at approximately 11:35 a.m. and will cover a distance of 1,900 meters. The adult race is scheduled for 12 noon along 5 kilometers. The awards ceremony will take place at 1:10 p.m.
