Pre-alert for storms and haze in Lanzarote ends

The General Directorate of Emergencies makes this decision "once the interaction of a sub-Saharan depression and a wave from the east to the south-southeast of the Canary Islands has ended."

The General Directorate of Emergencies, based on the prediction of Aemet and other sources, has ended this Wednesday the pre-alert for storms and haze in Lanzarote that was decreed last Monday, August 19.. In Lanzarote, the suspended dust affected the César Manrique airport on Monday, which had to divert up to twenty flights to Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.

From the organization they explain that this decision is made "once the interaction of a sub-Saharan depression and a wave from the east to the south-southeast of the Canary Islands has ended".

The weather for the next few days

According to what Aemet has reported this Thursday, August 22, on the island there will be cloudy intervals in the north tending to cloudy at the end. In the south, partly cloudy or clear. Temperatures will experience few changes, with a maximum of 30 degrees and a minimum of 23 in Arrecife. In addition, the wind will blow moderately from the northeast with intervals of strong in inland areas, where there is a low probability of some locally very strong gusts, especially at the first and last hours.

Regarding Friday, August 23, the sky will be cloudy in Lanzarote and maximum gusts of wind of 60 kilometers per hour will arrive in Haria and Tías during the day.
