The Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Emergencies, has declared a pre-alert situation for haze in the autonomous community of the Canary Islands, starting at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 17. In Lanzarote, significant reductions in visibility, less than 5000 meters, are not ruled out.

This decision is made taking into account the information provided by the State Meteorological Agency and other available sources, and in application of the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA).

For Sunday in Lanzarote there will be clear skies with the presence of high cloudiness and some intervals of low clouds at dawn on the coasts. Low probability of fog formation until noon in areas of the east coast. As for temperatures, the minimums will experience a slight increase, being notable in inland areas, and the maximums will also rise on the coasts and with few changes in the rest. It will be likely to reach 30 ºC in large areas of the island.

The wind will blow weak from the northeast, increasing on the coasts in the last hours of the day. In elevated areas of the interior, moderate from the southern sector in the central hours.
