The General Directorate of Emergencies, based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), has declared a pre-alert for coastal phenomena starting at 07:00 this Thursday in Lanzarote.
Bad sea conditions are expected with combined sea swells of significant height between 2.5 to 4 meters. According to Aemet, there is a 15% probability that the swell will exceed the indicated significant height. During this Thursday, the wind from the west component will shift to the northwest in the second half of the day with force 4 - 5 (20 - 38 km/h). There will be a swell and a northwest swell of 3 - 4 meters in the western islands and 2 - 3 meters in the eastern islands.
This pre-alert will also affect the north coast of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, the north and west coast of El Hierro, La Gomera, Fuerteventura and the west, north and northeast coast of La Palma.
