The Yaiza City Council has reopened Playa Dorada this Thursday after a Public Health report indicated this past Tuesday that there was a presence of Escherichia Coli bacteria, known as E.coli, and streptococci in the water.

Now, a new analysis of the water in this area of the Playa Blanca coast reveals that the beach is suitable for swimming, so the green flag is now waving.

This decision comes after Public Health verified that the beach was affected by "microbiological contamination." The laboratory results of the water samples were taken this past Monday and the analyses were completed this Tuesday.

The E.coli bacteria is usually present in the intestines of animals and people, while streptococci can generate different infections in humans.
