Patients at the Molina Orosa Hospital rate the care received during their admission with an 8.78

98.9% of patients are "satisfied or very satisfied" with the treatment received from the nursing staff

The Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital has obtained a score of 8.78 in the Hospital Discharge Satisfaction Survey (ESAH) corresponding to the year 2021.

The survey, carried out by the Canary Islands Health Service on a sample of 476 patients, aims to measure "the quality of care activity and user satisfaction with the care received during admission." The score obtained on this occasion improves the assessment compared to previous years.

Among the data collected through the ESAH of Molina Orosa, it is highlighted that "98.9% of patients are satisfied or very satisfied with the treatment received from the nursing staff and 98.1 percent of those surveyed say the same about the treatment provided by the medical staff," according to the Ministry.

Also, from Health they point out that "an improvement in the assessment of the attention of administrative staff and orderlies of the hospital is verified, since 98.5% of patients are highly satisfied with the treatment received by both groups of professionals."

Regarding the medical services of the Hospital, the Hematology units with an average score of 9.86, together with the Palliative Care unit, Cardiology and Pneumology, are the best valued by patients and all add more than 9 points on average. Also among the most valued are Neurology with a 9 and General and Digestive Surgery with an average score of 8.95.

The care received in delivery rooms is rated as "good or very good by 98.5 percent of patients", who, for the most part, say they have received "information on the benefits of breastfeeding and newborn care".

From the evaluation carried out by users through the ESAH, it also highlights the satisfaction with respect to their privacy, a parameter in which "97.7 percent of patients consider it good or very good, both in the room and in the tests during their stay at Molina Orosa".

Similarly, the results reflect high satisfaction in most patients with the information received about the evolution of their disease and the tests they underwent. On the other hand, "95.8 percent of those admitted report that the staff of the plant addressed them by name, all these answers that delve into the humanization strategy followed by the Hospital and its professionals".

With regard to other aspects such as cleanliness, signage and noise level in the hospital, they receive very good ratings from people admitted during 2021.

The study was conducted on a sample of 471 patients, with 51.4 percent of respondents being women and 48.6 percent men. The most significant age group of patients who participated was the group between 50 and 69 years, with 27.5 percent of the people who completed the survey.
