The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued an orange alert for adverse coastal phenomena for the coasts of Lanzarote, which will be activated this Monday, March 16, from 6:00 p.m. Previously, at 3:00 p.m., a yellow alert will be activated.
It is expected that the combined sea from the northwest will reach waves of between five and six meters, mainly swell with periods of 14 to 16 seconds, which will decrease to 12-14 seconds. This phenomenon will affect a large part of the Canary coasts, also including La Palma, El Hierro, Fuerteventura, and the north and northeast areas of Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
Aemet keeps it active until 7:00 a.m. this Tuesday, March 18.
Regarding temperatures, the minimums will experience a slight increase, while the maximums will continue as before. The wind will blow moderately from the northwest.
