The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, through the Waste Area headed by counselor Domingo Cejas, informs of the modification of the opening hours of the Insular Network of Recycling Centers due to the November bridge and the feast of San Martín de Porres, patron saint of waste collection and cleaning service workers.
Thus, on Sunday, November 1st, and Monday, November 2nd, the five recycling centers on the island will remain open from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. While on Tuesday, November 3rd, due to the feast of San Martín de Porres, only the recycling centers in Arrecife and Tías will be open, also from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The rest of the facilities will remain closed on that day.
The Insular Network of Recycling Centers has five selective collection centers, located in Playa Blanca (Yaiza), Playa Honda (San Bartolomé), Costa Teguise (Teguise), Arrecife, and Puerto del Carmen (Tías).
These facilities allow citizens to properly dispose of waste that should not be thrown into municipal containers, such as used oil, furniture, rubble, X-rays, paints, and pruning waste, in addition to paper, cardboard, packaging, and glass.
The Cabildo reminds that the usual opening hours of the recycling centers are Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sundays and holidays, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Likewise, it encourages the population to make responsible use of these facilities and to collaborate with the correct separation and management of waste to contribute to the protection of the environment and the sustainability of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
