The air traffic controllers' strike left moderate delays at Lanzarote Airport over the weekend. These claims have already lasted ten months in the privatized towers that are in the hands of the company Saerco and result in delays affecting passengers and crew.
During this past Sunday, November 19, the César Manrique aerodrome was placed as the sixth with the most delays in Europe. In total, it accumulated 1,260 minutes of waiting time, with an average of 11.78 minutes per flight. This is reflected on the European website Ansperformance.
These claims have already accumulated 107,842 minutes of delay on the continent this Monday morning. So eight out of ten flights in European airspace are affected by the controllers' strike, according to Eurocontrol.
This situation is already a daily reality in Lanzarote, where the aerodrome has risen as the airport with the most delays in Europe on different occasions during the last months. For example, last week, between November 13 and 19, 402 minutes of daily delay were accumulated, being the tenth with the most delays on the continent.
