The Cabildo of Lanzarote has announced the purchase of a new ambulance to reinforce the health coverage service in the municipalities of Teguise and Tinajo.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, valued this new acquisition that guarantees health care to these two population centers. “It was necessary to have services in towns as demanded as Tinajo and Teguise,” he added.

On the other hand, the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco Aparicio, explained that this service has the purpose of offering greater health coverage in Famara, Caleta de Caballo and La Santa, coastal towns that host numerous sports, tourist and cultural activities.

“This coastal area in particular is known for its surfers, cyclists, runners and motorhomes, especially in summer, with an influx of both native and foreign people,” added the president of the Consortium.

Aparicio affirms that, with this new service, security is guaranteed by covering possible accidents and complications that may arise in the area.

The new ambulance will reinforce assistance in this coastal area, strengthening the emergency and rescue team, in pursuit of a better service. The service was awarded to Emerlan for a period of six months and has a budget of around 50,000 euros.
