The Arrecife City Council held this Saturday the draw that determined the order of participation of the groups registered in the Carnival contests. The event took place in the Municipal Archive and was attended by the mayor, Eva de Anta, the Councilor for Festivities, David Duarte, and representatives of the different carnival groups. The XXIX Adult Murga Contest of the Arrecife Carnival 2017 will be held in two phases compared to the three that took place in previous editions. Tuesday, February 21 will feature the participation of five murgas and Wednesday, February 22, four. Another novelty this year is that five murgas will pass to the final that will be held on Friday the 24th.
The order of participation is as follows:
First phase.- Tuesday 21

3rd Revoltosas
4th Rebuscadas
5th Desahuciados
Second phase.- Wednesday 22
1st Desperdigaos
2nd Titi Roys
3rd Vacilonas

III Children's Murga Contest of the Arrecife Carnival 2017
In addition, the draw for participation in the III Children's Murga Contest of the Carnival was held, which will be held on Sunday, February 19. In this case, Los Retoñitos will be the murga that will open the competition and later it will be Chau Chau, Guacimetitos, Gorfinijos, Noveleros and Intoxicaditos
