The wind reached 77 kilometers per hour in Lanzarote early this Sunday. Specifically, according to Aemet data, it was in Haría where the wind blew the strongest, although it was also high in other parts of the island.
In Tinajo, a gust of 69 kilometers per hour was recorded, and in Tías, 65 kilometers per hour. For its part, in Yaiza, the maximum gusts reached 58 kilometers per hour, and at the airport, 50 kilometers per hour.
This wind has caused the Emergency Consortium to intervene in Playa Blanca. First, they had to secure some fences about to fall from a construction site located in front of the bus station. And later, they had to mark off an area of Avenida Marítima because stones were falling.
According to Aemet, throughout this Sunday and until 09:00 on Monday, gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour may occur. The wind will blow from the southeast, which will especially affect the west and north slopes, as well as La Graciosa. And as for the haze, the yellow warning will also be active until this Monday and will affect visibility to 3000 meters, and at times visibility may drop below 1500 meters.
