The inland and southern areas of the island will be the most affected by this rise "typical of summer", where "exceptionally high" values will be reached.

The State Meteorological Agency reported this Monday in a press release that "a progressive entry" over the Canary Islands of a mass of warm and dry air from the African continent is expected from Tuesday morning.

This air mass will bring with it an abundant amount of haze, from Saharan mineral dust and will mean "a progressive and marked" rise in temperatures. This rise in temperature will reach summer values and "exceptionally high" for these dates.

The entry of this air mass will begin affecting peaks, but will then also reach coastal strips. Thus, in this line and looking ahead to Wednesday, there will be an increase in temperatures in the eastern islands. In this way, the interior of Lanzarote may reach between 30 and 32 degrees.

Looking ahead to Thursday, according to the Aemet forecast, 34 degrees may be reached in the interior and south of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Only areas that are protected by the trade winds will remain below these expected maximum temperatures.

This situation threatens to last until Sunday and "a significant decrease" will not be reached until Monday, although there will still be areas of the Archipelago with maximums of up to 30 degrees.
